Sławno County (Polish: powiat sławieński) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in West Pomeranian Voivodeship, north-western Poland, on the Baltic coast. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998.
Aug 16, 2023 · Councillor Julia Dunlop travelled to the German town at the invitation of mayor Andrea Lange. She opened the festival, and later last weekend she unveiled a new welcome sign which displays the crests of Rinteln and its two twin towns - Kendal and Sławno, Poland. Cllr Dunlop met with representatives from Rinteln and from Sławno.

Dec 31, 2014 · Sławno is a town with long and stormy history. The first people arrived near Sławno in the Neolithic times. However, only in the early Middle Ages permanent settlements started to appear in the region. Defensive settlements were built from the 7th century by Slavs coming from the south-east.
Sławno is one of the oldest cities in the north of Poland. Its settlement history dates back to the 12th century. In 1317 the town was founded according to Lübeck law.
