Until 1 January 2007 Søllerød was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Copenhagen County on the east coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 39.77 km², and had a total population of 31,920 (2006).
The story of Søllerød Kro is almost 330 years old. It all began in 1677, when the local priest was granted a crown for parishioners and transiters. Today, over 300 years later, the idyllic setting remains unchanged with the city's street front, the forest behind it, the castle on one side and the church on the other side.
