The Hull and East Riding branch, an unincorporated charitable organisation founded in 1903, continues this work as an independent charity. The animal centre has existed on its current site located on Clough Road after being officially opened by Lady Atkinson on Friday 25th March 1938.
Introduction. OUR links with the city and the history of the RSPCA is not well documented. Almost two hundred years ago three men, sat in a coffee house in Slaughterhouse Lane, London discussing animal cruelty, one of them being our very own William Wilberforce.
About us. Our Animal Welfare Centre is located on Clough Road and our team of staff and volunteers care for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets. We help to rehabilitate and rehome vulnerable animals and help find them their furever homes.
