Ronald Shusett (born June 1935) is an American screenwriter and film producer, best known for his works in the science fiction and horror film genres. Along with co-writer Dan O'Bannon , he is the creator of Alien film franchise.

Mini Bio. Ronald Shusett was born to David and Fanny Shusett in June 1935. His younger brother Gary (1941 - 2013) founded the Sherwood Oaks Film School. When Ronald was three the family moved from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles where he grew up.

Ronald Shusett (born June 28, 1935) is an American film writer and producer who co-wrote the 1979 film Alien with Dan O'Bannon and the 2004 film Alien vs. Predator with Dan O'Bannon and Paul W. S. Anderson. He also served as executive producer on Alien.
In 1974, he was the first to option the short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale", which eventually became the film Total Recall starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Shusett is sometimes credited as Thilo T. Newman.
