His energetic freeze-frames can be traced to his early years photographing dance and boxing matches.
Ron Anderson’s recent photographs are explorations in alternative printmaking. They begin life as archival inkjet prints whose pigments are then transferred to a traditional watercolor paper. Built one layer upon another they become altered realities of the abandoned spaces he has photographed.
The photos in this collection were taken in the past five months. Nearly all of these photos were taken through the windshield, while I was stopped at an intersection and waiting for the red light to change. The number of people living on the streets of San Francisco since the pandemic began in March 2020 has grown exponentially.

On the final day, I was allowed into the building to photograph the interior, and thereby create a historical visual record of this iconic place.
