Visual and Performing Arts. The Kansas City Kansas Public Schools Fine Arts Department offers a comprehensive fine arts education for all students in kindergarten through grade 12, through course offerings in visual art, music, theatre, and dance.
History. Sumner's origins can be traced to a death in a racially charged environment. On April 12, 1904, Roy Martin, a white student at Kansas City, Kansas High School was shot and killed at Kerr Park. An African American named Louis Gregory was accused and arrested.

Paseo students are locally and nationally celebrated in their arts. Students learn in a hands-on environment and go on to postsecondary studies having earned scholarships to colleges and universities across the country.
Students are also challenged to excel academically. Rigorous academic programs, including advanced placement classes, are available for students to excel beyond their creative major.
