Oct 9, 2024 · Professor Richard Pring, whose contributions to education and the philosophy of education span over five decades and are recognised worldwide, passed on peacefully at his home in Oxford on Sunday.
Rose and Crown stalwart, Richard Pring, Professor Emeritus, died peacefully on the 6th October ’24. A man of many talents, a seminary at Rome, a marathon runner (at least 2 a year for some time), distinguished author and the boss of the nearby ‘University Department of Education’, to name but a few of the roles.
Oct 18, 2024 · Richard was Director of the Department of Education at Oxford from 1989 to 2003, as well as the holder of the first-ever Chair in Education at the University of Oxford. Richard went on to become Director of the Nuffield Review of Education and Training in England and Wales (2003-2009).
