A man of many talents, a seminary at Rome, a marathon runner (at least 2 a year for some time), distinguished author and the boss of the nearby ‘University Department of Education ’, to name but a few of the roles that filled his life.

Oct 18, 2024 · Emeritus Fellow Professor Richard Pring died on Sunday 6 October peacefully at his home in Oxford. Richard was elected to a Professorial Fellowship of then-Green College in September 1989 and became an Emeritus Fellow in 2003 when he retired.

Retired after 14 years as Director of the Department of Educational Studies at Oxford University in May 2003. Since 2003, he was Lead Director of the Nuffield Review of 14-19 Education and Training. This was a £1,000,000 six year project, funded by the Nuffield Foundation.
