Richard Plantagenet, 3rd Duke of York was born on 21 September 1411. He was the son of Richard of York, 1st Earl of Cambridge and Lady Anne de Mortimer. He married Lady Cecily Neville, daughter of Sir Ralph de Neville, 1st Earl of Westmorland and Lady Joan de Beaufort, before 18 October 1424.
