HAK has a few stand alone box games. Picked one up. And the wide and I jave a hard time. We ended up getting 2 of the Unsolved case files, and really enjoyed them. My wife is really into the murder mystery parts of these games, and the addition of pictures, reports, and narrative fits perfectly.

By today's standards, both are subpar directors. Renji Panicker was never a mass director. He just directed 2 movies, both of which were incoherent mess towards the climax.
The interesting things these bring to the table is they combine some of the escape room style puzzle elements into a murder mystery. Overall you are still checking suspects and looking for motives, but sometimes those motives are held behind codes that need cracking or puzzle locks, etc. (Sherlock has done a puzzle or 2 but it's not core to the game like Hunt a Killer).
