The Ubuyashiki Family (産屋敷の家族, Umuyashiki no kazoku?) is an ancient and noble family tasked with leading and organizing the Demon Slayer Corps in their quest to exterminate demons and defend humanity.
The Ubuyashiki family is a renowned and historical lineage. In a distant past, thousands of years ago, they are related to Muzan Kibutsuji, the progenitor of demons. Because their bloodline produced the first demon, the Ubuyashiki Family was cursed, and every male child born in the family would be born with a disease that would kill them before they were fully grown. The disease consists a burn-like skin condition that will eventually cover their entire body and shorten their lifespan.
Wanting to get rid of the curse, the members of the Ubuyashiki Family visited a priest, who told them that the male heirs should marry a woman picked by a priest. This seemed to work, as the Ubuyashiki male children managed to survive into adulthood, although they were still plagued by illness and died in early adulthood. The priest also told them that they should make it their life goal to kill Muzan, as the curse will endure until they eliminate the evil and cleanse the stain in their lineage. Therefore, they were the ones who devised the idea to establish the Demon Slayer Corps to end the evil and free themselves from the darkness that demons have unleashed. The male members take on the role of Oyakata-sama, serving as the head of the organization.
•Kagaya Ubuyashiki: the 97th leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. He devises a plan in which he decides to sacrifice himself in an explosion to weaken Muzan in preparation for the final battle.
•Amane Ubuyashiki: the wife of Kagaya. She took charge of the Corps after her husband's health deteriorated significantly, and held an emergency meeting with the Hashira in his stead. She died in the explosion when her husband sacrificed himself.
•Nichika Ubuyashiki: eldest of the quintuplets. She died in the explosion along with her parents and Hinaki.
•Hinaki Ubuyashiki: second of the quintuplets. She died in the same explosion.
•Kiriya Ubuyashiki: third of the quintuplets and the only son. He is one of the guides in charge of the Final Selection. After his father and two older sisters died, he becomes the 98th leader of the Demon Slayer Corps in the final battle. After Muzan’s death, Kiriya officially disbanded the Corps, as their mission was accomplished. Decades later, Kiriya is still alive and has become Japan’s longest-lived person.
•Kanata Ubuyashiki fourth of the quintuplets. She is one of the guides in charge of the Final Selection. During the battle in the Infinity Castle, she is shown to have exceptional memory and mapping skills, having successfully mapped and memorized the entire structure, despite the ever-changing castle.
