    To make this delicious homemade Southern style cabbage and onions without bacon or any meat, we use the following ingredients.

    shredded cabbage 2 cups (about ¼th of a medium size cabbage)
    onions 1 large size sliced
    salt adjust to taste
    garlic powder 1 teaspoon (or 2 cloves garlic finely minced)
    Add the shredded cabbage and sliced onions to a large pan or skillet.
    Also add salt, garlic and olive oil (or melted butter), stir well to combine.

    Fried cabbage and onions can be stored in air tight food containers for another 4 to 5 days (if stored properly).
