If you do not see the pictures from your gallery, just swipe up to make them visible. Tap on a picture to make a reel with just one photo. You can also do this if you want to add more photos but work on each separately. Alternatively, tap the two overlapping squares icon to upload all the photos simultaneously.

- Make sure Reels are available in your country. If your country isn't listed, you will immediately know that Reels not appearing on Instagram is not a glitch you can fix.
- Check your Internet connection. If you get a "Couldn't refresh feed" error, you aren't connected reliably to the Internet. You should try to fix this by reconnecting to the router or modem.
- Turn off the data saver feature. Reels might not play or upload if you're using the data saver feature. To turn it off, tap your profile picture, then tap the three-line menu icon and Settings and privacy.
- Make Sure to Download Full File. If you are downloading a file from the web or a social media app, make sure to download the full file. Otherwise, it won’t show up in the Photos app.
- Unsupported File Type. The default Photos app on iPhone or iPad doesn’t support all file types. For example, you can’t open and play .MKV, .FLV, .MOV, or .AVI files in it.
- Check Network Connection. Are you trying to sync iCloud photos and videos in the Photos app on your iPhone? You need to connect to a reliable Wi-Fi network, charge your iPhone, and sync iCloud media in the Photos app.
