The Mount Zion Christian Academy opened its doors to serve children in grades K through 6 under the leadership of Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in August 2012. Prior to its opening as the church’s School, it was the Yvonne C. Reed Christian Academy Inc. under the ownership and direction of Mrs. Yvonne Clayton Reed for 14 years.
We believe that a highly appropriate curriculum and assessment should be planned based on the best knowledge of theory and Practice, about how children develop and learn, with attention given to individual needs and interests. Our curriculum is designed to accommodate learning through play, hands-on activities, small and large group interactions.
The mission of Unity School is to provide opportunities to ensure each student will learn skills, acquire knowledge, and develop character within a rich, diverse, and nurturing learning environment.
