Testers Guide - Evaluating the Dog. During the ATTS temperament evaluation every dog is scored at each substation by a chief tester, two testers and up to three apprentice testers. The evaluators are spread out over the field to observe the dog from different angles.
Author: Helen Brown. Temperament assessment in companion animals is an important welfare issue, and more so for dogs than any other species. In this essay the purpose and process of the tests will be outlined, followed by a discussion of the potential positive and negative welfare implications.
Apr 10, 2018 · The current study aimed at developing a reliable and valid personality test for pet dogs. The VIDOPET yielded five personality factors, each comprising the dogs’ behaviour in multiple situations, and test results were not significantly affected by testing location, test person or coder identity.

Oct 1, 2021 · In this review, we analyzed the described physiological methods of stress assessment, their advantages and disadvantages, summarized visual signs of calm and stressed dogs’ behavior, and reviewed pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods to alleviate stress.
