The Governor’s Office of Federal Assistance (OFA) was established on July 1, 2022, as per the provisions of NRS 223.460-498. The primary objective of the OFA is to extend support to Nevada stakeholders in matters related to federal grants.
To provide high-level grant guidance to state agencies and community partners, the Office of Federal Assistance has updated the Nevada Grant Manual (updated May 2023). This publication should be used as a primer to understanding grant funding.
Grant Instructions and Requirements (GIRS) are provided to clarify federal and state regulations; ensure efficient use and management of funds; and ensure compliance with both state and federal regulations.
Both grant recipients and subrecipients receiving federal funding must follow these guidelines, which may determine state policies and procedures that align with federal requirements. Recent revisions to these OMB guidelines may require updates to internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal requirements.
