Early life
When Marie was young, she fell in love with a man and used a draft on him to make him love her. However, she eventually killed him. At some point she made a deal with the Deviland gained the ability to extend her life by eating souls. In exchange, however, once she did die, her soul would go straight to Hell.

This makes her virtually immortal, as long as she continues consuming souls.
