We give homeless dogs in rural shelters the love and support they need to be ready for a home -- just like yours! Whether you're looking to adopt a pet, make a difference as a foster or volunteer, or give to save shelter dogs, we're excited you're here!
Oct 24, 2023 · From age 14 and up, after completing a volunteer questionnaire and orientation, animal lovers can help the shelter in many ways. In the shelter, work includes cat/dog care, maintenance and cleaning as well as assisting potential adopters.
RESCUEDohio serves dogs in need by assisting partner shelters and providing comprehensive care until a compatible home is found. Our efforts are fueled entirely by volunteers. We share a passion to transform lives through educating our community and providing second chances for every dog who enters our foster-based program.

We are a large municipal dog shelter serving the citizens of Franklin County. Last year nearly 10,000 dogs and puppies entered the shelter. The majority of the dogs we offer for adoption are unclaimed lost dogs or owner turn-ins. Last year we adopted, returned or rescued 8,162 dogs and puppies.
