The Posadas tradition dates back to the 16th century, when the Spanish conquistadors brought the tradition with them to the New World. Posadas is a religious celebration that takes place in December leading up to Christmas. It is a time of celebration and prayer in which the faithful reenact the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem.
