It has been ruinous since it was unroofed in 1739, but its massive walls are still entire. It consists of an oblong keep, three storeys and a garret high, with a wing, one storey higher, placed at one end.

  8. Mar 1, 2024 · Portencross Castle is a small castle on the coast very close to West Kilbride. Entry is free and the views are simply breathtaking from there. The Friends of Portencross Castle have done a marvellous job of repairing and restoring the structure.I would definitely recommend a visit here and suggest you leave a donation to support them in continuing their good work.
