In 2019, due to the change of Pixar's technology, the opening was reanimated and the CGI was updated by giving Luxo Jr. a remodeled base and an LED lamp. This version debuted in Toy Story 4 and has been used since then.
In a computer-animated logo, an illuminated desk lamps hops past the word, Pixar, then squashes the letter I. A subtitle appears, "Animation Studios". An anglepoise lamp bounces like a spring in front of the letters of the word, Pixar. It lands on the letter I and pounds it into the ground.
Launched: November 22, 1995. During production of Toy Story in 1994, Pixar began referring to itself as Pixar Animation Studios, and dropped the square logo in favor of a wordmark set in the Charlemagne Bold typeface. This logo was created by current Pixar CCO Pete Docter.

Starting in 2008, the logo was remastered in HD. Starting in 2019, the logo was re-animated and re-rendered with Pixar's current software. Changes include some minor color correction and the lamp being remodeled with a new base and an LED bulb.
