Hiatus Kaiyote (/ h aɪ ˈ eɪ t ə s k eɪ ˈ j oʊ t i / hy-AY-təs kay-YOH-tee) is an Australian jazz/funk band formed in Melbourne in 2011, [1] made up of singer/guitarist Nai Palm, bassist Paul Bender, keyboardist Simon Mavin, and drummer Perrin Moss.
In his role as the drummer in Hiatus Kaiyote, Moss helped the group fashion a velvety take on the sultry sound of ‘70s soul. As a solo artist, Moss is trying to achieve the same thing—put his own spin on familiar sounds—although the way he goes about it is vastly different.
