Pál Fejős (27 January 1897 – 23 April 1963), known professionally as Paul Fejos, was a Hungarian-American director of feature films and documentaries who worked in a number of countries including the United States. He also studied medicine in his youth and became a prominent anthropologist later in life.

Aug 31, 2012 · The glowing notices brought Fejos offers from most of the major studios, but they were subsequently deterred by his insistence on retaining full artistic control. Carl Laemmle Jr., however, son of the head of Universal Studios, who had been bowled over by the film, persuaded his father to let Fejos make a picture on his own terms.
