- Obsession (2023) One of the best British TV shows on Netflix right now is the miniseries Obsession. Told in a tight four episodes, Obsession is based on the novel Damage by Josephine Hart and follows the Parliament member William (Richard Armitage).
- Stay Close (2021) Featuring a talented cast, Stay Close is another crime thriller miniseries from the UK and ultimately one of the best British TV shows on Netflix.
- The Duchess (2020) The Duchess joined the annals of series that should've been given another season, as the heartfelt comedy series was wholly unique. Created by and starring comedian Katherine Ryan, The Duchess sees ceramics artist Katherine (Ryan) as a single mom after a failed relationship with ex-boy band member Shep (Rory Keenan) and raising her daughter Olive (Katy Byrne) in London while contemplating having another child.
- The English Game (2020) Whether it's called soccer or football, The English Game tackles the origins of the iconic sport in one of the best British TV shows.
- It’s a Sin. Russell T. Davies, UK. Davies creates an evocative, personal time capsule of a 1980s London beset by the Aids crisis – it’s the first great British series on the subject.
- The Underground Railroad. Barry Jenkins, US. Jenkins’s gorgeous-looking adaptation of Colson Whitehead’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel is breathtaking storytelling which curves its way through an alternative history of slavery.
- Mare of Easttown. Brad Ingelsby, US. Kate Winslet excels as grieving mother and weary police officer Mare Sheehan in Ingelsby’s investigation of a small-town Pennsylvania murder.
- The North Water. Andrew Haigh, UK. Haigh explores the turbulent relationships between men aboard a 19th-century whaling ship in this epic but intimate five-part drama.

Set in London in the ‘80s, the show hinges around five friends — Ritchie (Olly Alexander), Jill (Lydia West), Ash (Nathaniel Curtis), Roscoe (Omari Douglas),and Colin (Callum Scott Howells) — living together over a decade amid the AIDS epidemic as it happened in the UK.
- The Pursuit of Love. Lily James as Linda and Andrew Scott as Lord Merlin in "The Pursuit of Love". Directed by Emily Mortimer, BBC One's adaptation of Nancy Mitford's 1945 novel is an absolute riot for lovers of period dramas.
