User Reviews. Parker Posey flashes her 1,000-kilowatt smile frequently in this film, and your enjoyment of the movie will rely primarily on how smitten you are by Posey's quirky charm. Count me as a follower. I think Posey is a hoot in everything she's in, incapable of giving an ordinary performance.
Jul 7, 1995 · As the movie begins, our 23-year-old heroine, Mary (Parker Posey) is being arrested for throwing a wild party. Eventually she is evicted from her Manhattan apartment for nonpayment of rent, at about the same time she develops a crush on a falafel vendor.
Party Girl aspires to be a mid-90's answer to the Susan Seidelman movies "Smithereens" and "Desperately Seeking Susan." Although it has some of the same frothy energy, it has no real story to tell.
