Nov 15, 2018 · In 1863, Plano became the printing headquarters of the Mormon Church newspaper, called “The Saints Herald.” Also in 1863, “Young Joseph” and his wife Emmeline and their children moved to Plano from Nauvoo, in west-central Illinois, where the church headquarters had been for many years until its temple was burned to the ground by angry protesters of the Mormon beliefs.
