Breaking down the four major PDX games, we see how few of their expansions are enjoyed (Steam only); 2 out of 6 for Stellaris. 2 out of 7 for HOI4. 2 out of 13 for EU4 (EU4 also has the worst review for any Paradox DLC, 3 very negative) 6 out of 15 for CK2. It seems strange that it's very predicable the DLC will not be meet well.
Paradox doesn't care about their customers. They comletly shut down a game people paid money for and instead of opening up a obviously profitless IP they just want to squeeze the last shekels out of it by "selling it to any interested party". Paradox seemingly hates it's customers. Another WOTR player here. Though the player count was never big, even in the end it still had a dedicated player base, people who were willing to rent their own servers for it (Thus letting Paradox keep the game alive with a mere backend server > minimal upkeep costs), people willing to code an update for it so that it would require no backend server ...
