  3. May 18, 2017 · Just beyond the entrance to Palomar Mountain State Park lies the Silvercrest Picnic Area, a quaint spot to enjoy a picnic with the family or relax in some quiet solitude. It its also the start of the short but scenic Silvercrest Trail, traversing a ridge along the southern edge of Palomar.

  4. Palomar Mountain Forest at it's best! Enjoy a leisurly nature walk along a trickling stream. Among the plant life found along this trail are the box elder, creek dogwood, wild strawberry, mountain currant, and sierra gooseberry. Also see an 150 foot tall incense cedar.

  5. Doane Valley Nature Trail One of the park's most popular trails and a great place to see the wide variety of plants that grow in this region. Learn about their characteristics, their habitats, and the many ways they have been used by people over time with a self-guided tour.

  6. May 17, 2021 · Explore the Stars – Monthly, April through October at Observatory Campground. Visitors welcomed. Flowers of the Mountain – Daffodils, tulips, dogwoods plus delightful wildflowers to discover all along the the way. Forest Fire Lookouts – Boucher Lookout is staffed May – Oct in the State Park.
