The following is a list of winners and shortlisted authors of the Booker Prize for Fiction. The prize has been awarded each year since 1969 to the best original full-length novel, written in the English language, by a citizen of the Commonwealth of Nations or the Republic of Ireland.

- From Here to Eternity based on the novel From Here to Eternity by James Jones. The film version of From Here to Eternity wasn't the only rendition to bring home an award.
- Around the World in Eighty Days based on the novel Around the World In Eighty Days by Jules Verne. This 1873 novel by Victorian sci-fi pioneer Jules Verne (Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Journey to the Center of the Earth) would go on to be adapted multiple times, but Michael Anderson’s 1954 film was the only adaptation to win an Oscar for Best Picture.
