Jul 26, 2020 · A Midsummer Night’s Dream is William Shakespeare’s first comic masterpiece and remains one his most beloved and performed plays. It seems reasonable to claim that on any fine night during the summer at an outdoor theater somewhere in the world an audience is being treated to the magic of the play.
Hopkins focused often on the beauties of the sky during his time in Wales (see “ Hurrahing in Harvest ” and parts of “The Wreck of the Deutschland”), but the “ The Starlight Night ” is Hopkins’s most intense, sustained, and enthusiastic consideration of the night sky.
