I initially assumed that this would mean there would be four loosely connected stories about different characters, but that’s not the case.
Tight and refreshingly brief (a brisk 80 minutes), Oki’s Movie functions as both reflexive auto-critique and an elegantly crafted cinematic/literary object bearing an all-too-pointed theme.
