Despite the fact that the story is not original, that the movie is predictable and that the beginning is very slow and admittedly quite boring, it was still an okay watch. I mean the last half hour was at the very least a little bit entertaining and the acting was actually quite good.

October Gale is a quiet thriller set in the wilds of Georgian Bay. It's an uneven movie with some odd jolts in the story, but the performances -- especially from Patricia Clarkson -- are noteworthy.
