Nymburk (Czech pronunciation: [ˈnɪmburk]; German: Nimburg, Neuenburg an der Elbe) is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 16,000 inhabitants. It is situated on the Elbe River. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone.
Nymburk, founded around 1275 as a royal city, is located at the mouth of the Mrlina river and the Elbe (Czech: Labe). The town is situated on both banks of the Elbe River and lies at the confluence of the Elbe and Mrlina rivers. It was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. The city has around 15,000 inhabitants (2019).
