Jul 12, 2014 · Ben (Redd Foxx) travels to L.A. to visit his son Norman (Michael Warren) after his wife Beatrice (Pearl Bailey) leaves him for his brother. However, unbeknownst to Ben Norman has come to terms with his closeted homosexuality and is now living with Garson (Denis Dugan).

Reviews. Norman … Is That You? ‧ 1976. Roger Ebert. October 4, 1976. 3 min read. It must have been all those years of hammering out punch lines in noisy nightclubs: Redd Foxx is able to step into a lukewarm comedy like “Norman . . . Is That You?” and actually invest it with some energy.
Preachy, but quite revolutionary comedy. It's not especially funny, but the idea - Redd Foxx tries to adjust to his son being in a mixed-race gay relationship, that idea but from the black perspective is especially interesting.
