This article is about the life of Lea Nikki, daughter of actress Angie Dickinson and musician Burt Bacharach. It details her premature birth, undiagnosed mental illness (Asperger's syndrome), institutionalization at the Constance Bultman Wilson Center in Minnesota, final years and death by suicide at 40 years old.

The only daughter of actress Angie Dickinson and musician Burt Bacharach dealt with a severe mental illness, but it was a psychiatry’s comment about her mother’s fate that placed her in a downward spiral of fear she could never get out of.

Their daughter Lea Nikki was born three months prematurely and weighed only one pound ten ounces at birth. She made it out of the hospital after three months, but before her first birthday, they started noticing some worrying signs.

Although their daughter had developmental issues like strabismus and didn't speak until she was three years old, she excelled in physical activities like gymnastics and piano playing. It wasn't until the early 90s that Asperger's syndrome became widely recognized as an illness.

When Nikki was 14 years old, they sent her to the Constance Bultman Wilson Center in Minnesota for 10 years which turned out to be the worst decision ever made as hospitalization is not prescribed treatment for Asperger's syndrome.

While at Wilson center psychiatrists tried to turn Nikki into someone else which resulted in devastating consequences such as cutting off hair due to convenience or wrecking cars while driving under pressure from psychiatrists .

After being diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome by UCLA ,Nikki died by suicide at 40 yrs old due to loud noises causing fear of death of mother .
