Aug 23, 2024 · Born in Wood Green, north London, on 4 November 1947, David Nigel Perrin was the only son of Sidney Perrin, a member of the Royal Air Force, and his wife, Phyllis. He spent his early years in Yorkshire, and took up a place, aged eight, at the King’s School, Ely, where he sang in the cathedral choir.

Nigel Perrin (1947–2024) was musical director of the Bath Bach Choir from 1990 until 2022. Paul Phoenix founded his own consultancy, PurpleVocals, and in September 2019 opened the Paul Phoenix Academy, his own private music school in Hong Kong.
