    • Roosters. This is my favorite family restaurant. The kid’s meals are CHEAP at $4.99, come with A LOT of food and have a variety of options to choose from.
    • 101 Beer Kitchen. All kids get their own menu on an activity sheet with games and places to color while you wait. The kids’ meal comes with a drink, an entree, two sides and a dessert and has several options to choose from.
    • The Rusty Bucket. The kids meal comes with a drink and a side, with a few options to choose from. My kids say the french bread pizza on the kids menu is their absolute favorite pizza.
    • Bd’s Mongolian Grill. My kids love getting to fill their bowls (with my help) with the ingredients of their choice, and then watching all the food be cooked while we wait.

About: The J. Fred Schmidt Meat Packing House opened in the heart of German Village way back in 1886. Schmidt’s first foray into serving cooked food came in 1914 when they opened a stall at the Ohio State Fair. The restaurant we know and love today opened in 1967 and it’s been a Columbus institution ever since. There’s no bad time of year to enjoy ...

About: Gemüt Biergarten might not be in German Village, but it’s close enough in neighboring Olde Town East that we just had to mention it. Warm, inviting, and authentic. That was my immediate impression when I visited Gemüt for the first time. Everything on the menu is great (especially the schnitzel) and it’s even better when you pair it with one...
