The N7 road is a national primary road in Ireland, connecting Limerick and Dublin. The majority of the route (between Naas and Limerick) is motorway standard and is designated as the M7 motorway. At the Rosbrien interchange in Limerick the route continues as the N18 dual carriageway to Galway, Shannon and Ennis.
The first was the construction of the grade separation of the Naas, Belgard and Fonthill Roads at a location called Newlands Cross. This took place between 2013-2015, opening in May. It did not, however, constitute a new section of motorway, as the N7 Naas Road is dual carriageway only at this point.
Feb 6, 2018 · So 50 years ago this month, the N7 Naas Dual Carriageway was completed, linking Dublin to Naas on what was at the time Ireland's most heavily trafficked route. It was the culmination of over 20 years of dualling the road piecemeal.
The N7 between Dublin and Naas, known locally as the Naas Dual Carriageway, was extensively upgraded in 2006. It was widened to 6 lanes and had 4 new junctions added. Most local access was also closed off.

Today's N7 begins at the Red Cow Interchange (locally nicknamed the "Mad Cow" interchange) with the M50. It heads southwest down Naas Road as a high speed dual carriageway. While there are some LILO junctions and access to private businesses, all crossover junctions have been removed. The last and most notorious of these was a set of traffic lights...
The original start of the N7 was in Dublin, at a junction with the N4 at Rory O'More Bridge. It then ran in both directions along Victoria Quay, past Heuston Station and into Inchicore on the old road past Kilmainham Gaol.
