Located in the heart of Panola County, Texas, Lake Murvaul is a public reservoir spreading across 3,800 acres. Located just 15 miles west of Carthage, it attracts locals and tourists with its abundant fishing opportunities and a plethora of outdoor activities.
Lake Murvaul is located ten miles southwest of Carthage on Murvaul Creek in the Sabine River basin in Panola County three miles south of Clayton and 14 miles north of Timpson. Bring your family to camp or picnic at the Murvaul campground and swim, boat, fish and paddle on the lake.
Cabins & Pavilions. The Lake Murvaul Park is nestled in the Piney Woods of Deep East Texas. The lake is 3,800 acres with a clean swimming area, restrooms, a playground, three fishing piers, a fish cleaning house, and free boat launch ramps. We have 12 newly remodeled cabins, a lodge, and a Lakehouse with a view of the lake and basic amenities.
