Grant for the Web is a $100 million fund supporting innovation and open standards in Web Monetization. It is funded and led by Coil in collaboration with Mozilla and Creative Commons.
To ensure the widest possible distribution of award-funded materials and to ensure that they remain generally available to the public, our grant agreement includes a requirement for awardees to release any project-related content under a Creative Commons license and any project-related code under an open source license.
In September 2019, the Mozilla Foundation, Creative Commons, and Coil announced Grant for the Web, a $100 million fund designed to support the development of technologies, content, and ideas utilizing the Interledger Protocol.
