Jan 13, 2016 · I will be the first to admit that milk paint can look a little scary after the first coat (and it has on many occasions.) One of the contributing factors to the ugly stage is that milk paint is thinner than most other paints on the market.
Nov 9, 2015 · Milk paint isn’t just a cutesy name out of left field. It’s called milk paint, because the base ingredient for it is casein, which is the protein found in milk. In the raw state, casein looks a lot like powdered milk! (It’s in the top spoon in the picture below.)
There is a company in Pennsylvania that makes a lot of natural painting and such products, mainly milk based paint. I've used their Tung oil which is really awesome, and I've used their stripper which is so-so.

Nov 26, 2015 · Milk paint is the absolute best paint I know of for raw wood. It will soak in like a stain (as opposed to sitting on top, like modern paints) and will stay there for decades. Even centuries. Seriously. If you have raw wood cabinetry, floors, paneling, etc, milk paint is a fantastic option.
