This mod will replace all team viewhands with Mistys, Please note because of the current state of mod support for iw5 (02/01/23) this mod will crash your game on Outpost and Downturn. Friday Night Funkin': Misty Tragedy is an upcoming mod directed by VibeWithGalaxy themed around Squidward's Suicide, also known as Red Mist, a classic creepypasta tale surrounding a lost episode of the Spongebob Squarepants series. In the episode, Squidward commits suicide after being overwhelmed by the crowd during a clarinet performance, receiving enough negative feedback from the crowd to force him into shooting himself with a shotgun.
The very first concept of Misty Tragedy originated way back to October 13, 2021 with a sketch of Squidward's Suicide made by VibeWithGalaxy after sketching a handful of his mod ideas and releasing them on Twitter. Followed by a second sketch on December 20th of the same year, Misty Tragedy's development had officially begun.
The official Misty Tragedy's Twitter account was established on February 12th, 2022. It was then that the complete development team was revealed, starting off with a team of ten people. By April 18th, 2022, a collaboration with Mistful Crimson Morning was announced on Twitter. The collaboration had been planned for months, indicating that the collaboration with Mistful Crimson Morning was an early priority for the mod. Unfortunately however, the collaboration ultimately failed due to a schism within the two teams on May 21st, 2022.
As of August 13, 2023, Misty Tragedy is on an indefinite hiatus due to VibeWithGalaxy not having any motivation for the mod.
•Actually, Misty Tragedy IS the first Red Mist themed mod to be developed, with F is for Funk being the third and Mistful Crimson Morning coming in second, as F is for Funk started development in October 2022, Misty Tragedy started development in December 2021, and Mistful Crimson Morning started development in February 2022.
•However, the first mod in which Red Mist Squidward makes an appearance as an opponent is in The Squidward Tricky Mod.
•This mod was originally represented by the Box Funkin team, but due to the controversies concerning Sandi and Cape, it became an independent mod. For more information, see The Mistful Crimson Morning page.
•The Astrobort stage was originally for Mistful Crimson Morning, but due to the dev team loving the idea and Vibe feeling bad for Sandi he decided to move it to this mod.
•Misty Tragedy's V1 will have a total of 16 songs.
