Francisco Arturo Michelena Castillo (Spanish pronunciation: [arˈtuɾo mitʃeˈlena]; 16 June 1863 – 29 July 1898) was a Venezuelan painter born in Valencia, Carabobo State. He began to paint at a young age under his father's tutelage. Traveled to Paris where he studied in the famous Académie Julian.

He received first pictorial instructions from his aunt and along with Rojas, Antonio Herrera Toro and Tovar became one of the greatest Venetian painters of the nineteenth century.
