    See the situation, see the people. This gives you clues to help you understand. By simply watching, you’ll understand some basic things such as: Who are they? Where are they? what are they doing? How do they feel? Having this basic information is a good foundation to better understand what the people are talking about.

    Listening

    Listen to what people say. Pick up chunks of language that you know. These might be common expression like “can I have…” or “thank you” or any word that you know. From these pieces and your knowledge of the situation, you can start putting the puzzle together and understand what is going on. Use the activities to listen and repeat sentences. This helps you to get used how people say these sentences naturally.

    Reading

    Many students are surprised that all the words seem to run together. It seems very fast. So how do you really know what the words were? We have transcripts so that you can read and check. You can also use the transcript to find new words, expressions or sentences that you think are useful.
