Professor Michael King, who died on 10 September 2021 aged 71, made numerous important contributions in primary care psychiatry, including risk prediction and the evaluation of complex interventions for mental disorders.

Michael King was a Professor of Primary Care Psychiatry at UCL. Michael led and expanded the Department of Academic Psychiatry at the Royal Free Hospital from the early 1990s, steering its merger with UCL.
John King, MD – A Londoner by birth, was entered on the physic line at Leyden 16th February, 1629, being then twenty-four years of age. He graduated doctor of medicine at Leyden in 1638, was incorporated at Oxford 14th January, 1640-1, and was admitted a Candidate of the College of Physicians 22nd December, 1643; and a Fellow 9th August, 1648.
