Mar 24, 1994 · screenwriter Martin M. Goldsmith was American screenwriter and novelist who wrote several classic B-movies including Detour, which he adapted from his 1939 novel of the same name; Blind Spot; and The Narrow Margin, for which he earned an Academy Award nomination.
Martin Goldsmith’s childhood home is filled with secrets about his parents past. When he confronts his ageing father, we are led back to Germany in 1930ties, where Martins parents, as young musicians are part of the newly established Jüdischer Kulturbund, lead by Goebbels.

(1913-1994) US screenwriter and author in whose Shadows at Noon (1943), a Near Future sf novel set in World War Two, Manhattan (see New York) is bombed by Nazi bombers. Goldsmith wrote two episodes of The Twilight Zone in 1964.
Although he authored relatively few screenplays for someone who had a 20-year career as a screenwriter, Martin Goldsmith made a serious mark with the scripts he did write and the original stories that he sold to the Hollywood studios, most notably in the field of film noir.
