  1. Aug 24, 2021 · I did try a 1.5 engine and it seemed quite good. On paper the 1.5 is 125 mph top speed and 9.2s 0 to 60 and the 2.0 is 133 mph top speed and 7.4s 0 to 60. Not looking for a racing car, but what something that doesn't feel laboured and can pull up hills or overtake with ease.

  2. Four months after the software update to fix the 1.5 TSI issues, Volkswagen told HonestJohn.co.uk that it considered the fix "a success" - despite continued reports of ongoing issues from owners. One reader told HonestJohn.co.uk that his 2018 Skoda Octavia suffered the issue all the time, regardless of whether the engine was cold or hot.

Ours is the 1.5TSI (150 PS) and while a 2.0TSI would provide a bit more shove, the 1.5 is actually pretty good and pulls well IMHO. It’s currently turning in about 44mpg with mixed motoring and can give 50mpg on a run. Didn’t fancy the 1.5TDI or the 130PS TSI.

  4. Jul 20, 2019 · The 1.5 feels slower, and on youtube anyway 0-100 is about 8.5 I've only test driven one and found the 1.5 nosier when revved, and slower, but the way the engine shuts off when coasting and start stop are both undetectable and vibration free. The 2 litre could achieve 48 mpg on long motorway runs, but around 26 mpg in town, maybe the 1.5 is ...

  5. May 26, 2020 · The issues are pretty well fixed, but some have still issues and worse still have them dismissed now by Skoda UK / VW Group. So the point is not 'fixed' if you have one with issues. If those that had a late 69 or 20 plate have had the chance to drive theirs much and no issues showing then great. @shyVRS245.

  8. May 30, 2020 · Hyundai average 1.5 petrol in the Creta against the 1.4 TGDi. Verna's average 1.5 replaced by the 1.0 TGDi. The engine was the highlight in the Aura and I'm sure it should be nice in the Verna as well. The lacklustre 1.5 K series against the 1.0 Turbojet. (Wish it had happened - but at least we can compare as we've tasted both engines in India).
