Per Mesa Boogie, there is a "radical sound and feel difference" between Triode and Pentode. Unfortunately for Mark VII users, the C+ mode will not be able to run on Triode like an '80s original.

The Mark VII sounded very tight, I suspect they did the non-GEQ model coupling cap which cuts bass before the GEQ for a faster response, just like on the Mark V. The JP2C definitely had a noticeably larger low end, i was surprised Ola didn’t notice.
