Fiction. edit data. Mark Dintenfass was born in Brooklyn and graduated from Columbia University, from which he also received an M.A. in Drama. With his wife, Phyllis, he joined the Peace Corps and was assigned to Ethiopia, where he taught English at Haile Selassie University in Addis Ababa.
This wonderful book traces a family from the old world to the new. OK. Sorry. But the author stole my review, or at least the start. But this family is so compelling. Kind of mystical and kind of practical. Kind of gangster and kind of generous. The funny stuff is sprinkled right directly on top of the tragic and that is really how I like my books.
