The Red Maids’ School, founded in 1634, by Mayor and MP of Bristol, John Whitson. A wealthy merchant, he tragically outlived all three of his daughters. Perhaps because of this, he left his estate for the foundation of The Red Maids’ Hospital. In his will Whitson wrote that this unique establishment would be created for “40 poor women and children”...
Redland High School provided exceptional education for girls for over 130 years, establishing itself as one of the top independent girls’ schools in the South West. Redland High School for Girls was a selective and independent, non-denominational girls' school in the suburb of Redland, Bristol, England. The school merged with the Red Maids' School in May 2016, with the new merged school named Redmaids' High School and based at the Red Maids' site from September 2017 in Westbury-on-Trym .
Girls grades 9-12 develop leadership skills, build compassion, gain responsibility, and acquire real-life experiences through discovery of their God-given talents. At girls' schools, girls demonstrate great confidence in female leadership and become increasingly interested in leadership positions themselves. Dr.
